This is our family anthem. One night a few years ago we happened to be in Utah. Bountiful, specifically. Up on the east side in the mountain, driving around at sunset. This song came on our ipod, and we cranked it at full volume, rolled the windows down, and drove around with five kids and two adults singing at the top of their lungs. It is one of my absolute favorite memories.
I miss my stepkids this week. It's really hard to love someone very much, and have to be mostly removed from their lives. I know they feel the same way. We are always hopeful that time will improve the situation, and that as they get older, they will become more independent in their abilities to communicate with us. Until then, there's hope and faith in the ability to see over high mountains.

I love this song. Sing on.
My anthem is R-E-S-P-E-C-T. It helps me survive the teen years.
That was so well, and beautifully said about your stepkids. Thanks for sharing that memory of the 5 of you singing together.
I love Tunesday.
Yeah, separation sucks.
Oh FYI, I know this is totally off topic, but I'll be in Turkey for the next few months, and I'm not sure how much internet access I'll have out there, so my hilarious comments may be a little spotty. You and your ladyfriends are going to have to learn to cope.
Rock on.
I just watched the video. I must say that I am impressed that they made a video...even though this is before the days of MTV...or even, "Friday Night Videos".
LOVE that song. It is so powerful, so inspiring.
good song...good memory
Great great song! I love family moments like those. I'm sorry you can't see your kiddos as often as you'd like. Hang in there!
I can picture it now...who started singing first? Is this a regular occurrence in your vehicle? Maybe I won't travel with you any time soon.
Brought back memories of you and Andrew sitting in the backseat doing the entire dialogue from Princess Bride and Strange Brew. Thanks for the memories. Brought a big smile to my face.Mom
I totally know what you are talking about. I cling to these sort of blissful moments.
I hope you start singing this song to your kids when they act up. So much better than singing "Love at Home" like my dad did.
Love this song! It is an all time classic!
You are a good Mom to your stepkids. They are very lucky to have their Father and you in their lives.
That song is AWESOME! I love 60s and 70s tunes.
btw, i just re-read your profile and saw that you work full time special ed. Do you teach? I just passed my special ed certification test!
I am going to work on a family theme song. Maybe one from some disaster movie would be appropriate for us??
Your kids are all lucky to have someone who loves them so fiercely. More people need to love and be loved that way.
